Waveform
Acquisition
The CHAR 2003 System includes a separate program called Waveform Acquisition. The Waveform Acquisition program allows the operator to select up to 2 channels to record transient waveforms. these waveforms are then maintained in the CHAR data base. The system comes configured with standard data acquisition formats that are most frequently used, but CHAR will create custom formats at the clients request. Sufficient capability within the system allows for operator waveform acquisition optimization. After recording data, the DSO settings are stored in the data base for recording future comparison data and trending. Like the standard CHAR fingerprint, selecting the equipment ID is sufficient to provide the operator with additional settup instructions.The popularity of this feature has prompted CHAR to provide CHAR system owners with adjunct software which allows the client to use other DSO's separate from the CHAR to record similar data.
