Services is located in Annville, Pennsylvania. CHAR provides services and
test equipment for determining the condition of electrical circuits, for
locating and eliminating electrical noise interference, and for qualification
of Nuclear Power Plant Equipment to meet the NRC's Electromagnetic Qualification
requirements, we also provide design services and training in these areas. |

CHAR
was formed in 1990. The CHAR 921 System was introduced in 1994 and the CHAR
981 System was introduced in 1998. Currently CHAR systems are owned and
being used by Duke, TVA, Southern Services, American Electric, Entergy,
Arizona Public Service, Washington Nuclear, Nebraska Public Power Supply
and Nuclear Energy Limited in Japan. These same systems have been used at
nearly all of the Nuclear Plants in the US. CHAR has trained over 1500 engineers
and technicians in the Power Industry to recognize and control electrical
interference.
CHAR has introduced
changes to the Standards for Grounding requirements and the understanding
of EMI induced electrical noise. CHAR prepared an Engineering Design Standard
for Control of EMI for San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station in 1990 ,
TR102323, TR-102400V2, Handbook for Electromagnetic Compatibility of Digital
Equipment in Power Plants, Volume 2: Implementation Guide for EMI Control
in 1994.
